Carpenters Regional Council board members, union members and business representatives turned out to a pair of O’Fallon, MO meetings recently in support of a home development planned by signatory contractors.
McBride Homes, Fisher & Frichtel, and Consort Homes have submitted plans to the city of O’Fallon to build an 896-home development on more than 260 acres there, including some light commercial and a 13 acre park for the residents. CRC leaders turned out in force in August at a City of O’Fallon Planning and Zoning meeting and a separate City of O’Fallon Council meeting to voice support for the development, which would create several hundred union jobs over many years of development. The proposal still is under consideration by the city council, with further readings scheduled.
“This was an opportunity for our organization to support our signatory contractors and help the leaders of the city of O’Fallon understand the positive impact this development will have on their community,” said EST Al Bond. “It was important that we be there to support our contractors and secure work for our members.”
